About VIN specs
A 17-character VIN encodes who built the vehicle, what year, and what configuration. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) maintains the vPIC database that translates each VIN into structured fields. TruckCodex decodes every VIN we see and aggregates the results across millions of records.
This page lists every spec field where we have at least one value populated. Click into any field to see all its distinct values, distribution, and how it correlates with other fields.
